I am deeply sorry to inform you that our collegue and mentor Dieter Falkenhagen passed away on August 11, 2015. Dieter was Professor of Clinical Medicine and Biotechnology at Danube University Krems (Austria), until becoming an emeritus professor in April 2015.
He mentored the BioNanoMed congress series from its beginnings in 2009 and chaired the Scientific Board until 2015.
Dieter was a highly valuable member of the BioNanoMed Team throughout the years. His scientific background as well as his network was most profound. A prominent characteristic of Dieter was his openness to new ideas and his creativity. I was always happy and grateful to have him on the BioNanoMed Team. He was a very honourable and respectable person.
It was a great honour for me to work with him and he will sorely be missed.
You have gone out of our life but you remain in our hearts!
