Welcome at Krems

Krems is very well suited to be the host city for the BioNanoMed 2009 - Congress, as the city is located in the centre of Europe being famous for its architecture, culture and art.

Krems has a history of more than 1000 years. The historical center with beautifully restored houses from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods is awaiting you. The blue water of the river Danube emphasizes the beauty of this region. This Danube Town has been in existance for over a millennium and this long history is omnipresent. The lively and modern cafes, restaurants, shops and boutiques create an interesting counterpoint to this history. Krems is a vibrant town. By the way Krems is the first town in Austria to be declared a "Cittá del Vino" and accepted into the famous guild of Europe's most famous wine towns. This region was selected by the UNESCO as a “World Heritage Site”.

Because of this special atmosphere, Krems became the capital for education and science in Lower Austria. The new campus involving two universities will acknowledge your participation at the BioNanoMed 2009.It is our great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the BioNanoMed 2009 in Krems, Austria.
